Description
The Grid Has a Permitting Wall. Your Rig Shouldn’t.
Whether you are boondocking deep in the Arizona high desert or coordinating off-road assets in remote terrain, relying on fragile consumer hotspots is a vulnerability. The WISP-in-a-Box Base (Gen 5) replaces fragile consumer-grade patchwork setups with a unified, robust tactical network node. We have taken high-density cellular technology, surgically removed the unstable battery core, and integrated it into a clean, vehicle-ready hardware stack.
Three Core Systems. One Integrated Shell.
1. The Battery-Free Cellular Compressor
Standard hotspot batteries are ticking time bombs under windshield greenhouses. We have completely excised the internal lithium-ion battery. Utilizing our proprietary Battery Elimination Circuit (BEC) and a custom-soldered 10kΩ spoofing resistor, the unit runs safely up to the absolute limits of the silicon itself (~60°C+ ambient). It draws directly from your vehicle’s DC accessory bus via the included fused power whip, booting in seconds without buttons to press.
2. The Starlink Business Anchor Strap
Setting up satellite gear on the move shouldn’t require custom fabrication hacks. Product 1 includes a heavy-duty, vibration-dampened structural mounting strap engineered to secure a Starlink Business Kit directly to your vehicle’s roof rack or expeditionary frames, ensuring your primary dish remains anchored through aggressive off-road travel.
3. The pfSense Gatekeeper Router
Your data belongs to you, not the cloud. The integrated pfSense routing core operates directly at the edge. It manages your secure VPN tunnels, local DHCP, and hardware-enforced firewall rules locally. If your satellite or cellular connection drops, the local router maintains your private local network, ready to sync back to the Locutus Ledger the millisecond connectivity is restored.
Critical Mission Profiles
The Overlander Cockpit (Extreme Heat Resilience)
Your vehicle dashboard acts as a greenhouse, easily climbing past 75°C while parked. The WISP-in-a-Box Base operates comfortably in these thermal conditions. Hardwire the included DC whip directly to your vehicle’s accessory line; the moment the rig wakes up, you are globally connected via USB-C tethering with zero battery fire risk.
The Remote Solar Outpost (100% Duty Cycle)
Leaving a battery-powered device plugged into a charger 24/7 in an unventilated shed kills battery chemistry and invites disaster. The WISP-in-a-Box is engineered for continuous 100% duty cycle operation. Connect it directly to the load output of your solar charge controller—even if the site completely loses power at night, the gateway auto-boots and re-syncs your local ledger the moment the sun hits the panels.
