The Pawnee Dune Buggy (Product 5) is built to redefine off-grid exploration. By adapting our race-proven tactical suspension, composite armor, and quiet rotary range extender tech into a lightweight, classic open-air buggy shell, we have created an agile, durable vehicle that charges its own batteries using whatever fuel is on hand.
Hybrid Wankel-Electric Propulsion
1. Silent Electric Drive with Instant Torque
The primary drivetrain of the buggy is 100% electric, drawing power from a direct-to-12V Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery bank. This low-voltage architecture resolves the heavy, inefficient inverter overhead typical of traditional electric drivetrains. It provides near-silent crawling and instantaneous electric torque directly to the wheels, allowing you to maneuver through silent watch or low-signature mission phases over loose sand, rocks, and unpaved mountain routes without a sound.
2. The 150cc Wankel Range Extender APU
Mounted in the rear engine bay is our compact, liquid-cooled 150cc single-rotor auxiliary rotary generator, built under contract with Freedom Motors. It outputs 3.5 kW of continuous electrical power (5.0 kW peak). The range extender is programmed to automatically engage when the LFP battery bank drops below a 20% state of charge, seamlessly charging the battery core while the vehicle is stationary or in motion. It runs on diesel, aviation fuel, standard unleaded gasoline, or synthetic biofuels produced on-site (such as Agra Dot Energy biofuels), ensuring true fuel independence.
3. Baja-Bred suspension & 37-Inch Tire Package
Tackle extreme obstacles and unpaved washouts with a suspension foundation inspired by Unlimited Class desert racing. The tubular steel frame is integrated with a long-travel independent suspension system that absorbs massive high-speed vertical impacts, reducing cabin shock and protecting your onboard telemetry cores. Massive 37-inch rugged off-road tires provide generous ground clearance and extreme traction over broken rocks and soft dunes.
4. Armor Protection via Ogre Skin Shell
The classic open-air fiberglass monocoque body is reinforced with our proprietary **Ogre Skin** polymer-composite plating. Chemically engineered to resist high impact, UV radiation, and deep scratches from jagged brush or volcanic rock slides, this protective under-armor and casing shell also shields the high-voltage battery bank from moisture, mud, and salt-water spray.
5. Native RIOS Command Integration
The entire vehicle operates as an active mobile node. All system metrics—including battery charge, generator fuel volume, engine temperature, and network performance—are streamed directly to your mobile device via the **RIOS Command App** (compatible with iOS, Android, and Web). Your buggy seamlessly syncs its local telemetry and coordinates to the Locutus Ledger over local mesh networks, keeping you connected in Island Mode.
Bespoke Build & Lead Time
Every Pawnee Dune Buggy is hand-assembled to the client’s specifications in our Sovereign Factory Node workshop. We offer custom body colors, suspension rates, and specialized accessory mountings (including custom racks for Starlink dishes, WISP-in-a-Box gateways, or cargo boxes). Our standard delivery window is **4 to 6 weeks** from payment validation. Units are shipped rolling, fully fluids-checked, and ready to drive.

WARRANTY & MECHANICAL COMPLIANCE: The Pawnee Dune Buggy is hand-assembled to ensure 100% BABA (Build America, Buy America Act) structural compliance. Pawnee Mobility provides a 1-Year / 5,000-Mile limited warranty on the electric drivetrain and structural tubular chassis, and a 1-Year / 500-Hour warranty on the licensed Rotapower® 150cc auxiliary engine core. Operating the generator set on unapproved or contaminated fuels may void the APU warranty.
