Running custom-tuned pfSense routing software, it manages sub-millisecond failover so your stream remains unbroken, even when trees or mountains temporarily block your satellite’s line of sight.

When you are operating heavy machinery, piloting heavy-lift drones beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS), or running an off-grid operations base, a drop in connection is more than an inconvenience—it is a critical failure point. Traditional mobile routers rely on single-carrier cellular lines, fragile consumer-grade Wi-Fi, and slow, software-delayed failovers.

The WISP-in-a-Box LTE (Gen 5) is engineered to eliminate connection latency. By combining high-performance multi-carrier cellular bonding with a Low Earth Orbit (LOE/Starlink) radio transceiver under the management of an onboard pfSense gateway, Product 2 delivers a robust, zero-downtime communication channel inside a single, weather-sealed, industrial-grade housing.

1. The Sat-Cellular Combustion Engine (LTE + LOE)

The WISP-in-a-Box LTE integrates both an industrial, high-performance LTE compressor and an LOE satellite radio receiver directly onto a unified, high-durability internal motherboard. There are no external modems to dangle, no fragile plastic cases, and no loose connections. The unit automatically coordinates satellite data backhaul with multi-carrier cellular bonding, giving you the best of both worlds: high-throughput satellite speeds and the low-latency resilience of cellular mesh networks.

2. Sub-Millisecond pfSense Failover

Most commercial dual-WAN routers take 10 to 30 seconds to recognize a connection drop and switch WAN ports. If your Starlink dish’s line of sight is temporarily obstructed by heavy tree canopy, terrain, or building structures, those seconds of downtime will disconnect your drone, stop your automated ag-bots, or interrupt your secure telemetry feed. Our embedded pfSense routing layer evaluates connection health in real time, executing automated, sub-millisecond packet-level failover to the bonded cellular line with zero stream disruption.

3. The Battery-Free Nomad Shell

Like its predecessor, the Nomad Link, Product 2 has been completely purged of chemical batteries. It draws power directly from your vehicle or outpost’s 12V–48V DC bus via a fused hardwire whip. Powered by a high-efficiency DC-DC Buck Converter (Mini-360) and spoofed with our proprietary 10kΩ BSI resistor circuit, the system operates comfortably in unventilated greenhouses, engine compartments, and dashboards up to 60°C+ ambient.

4. Factory Application-Specific Pre-Configuration

Every WISP-in-a-Box LTE is custom-configured by DeReticular technicians at the workshop before shipping. When ordering, you specify your environment—whether it’s agricultural robotics, maritime mast arrays, or extreme overland vehicle command stations—and we pre-tune the pfSense routing configurations, vSIM profiles, and security keys to optimize performance out of the box.

Weight is the enemy of flight time, and Wi-Fi (2.4GHz) RF noise can interfere with sensitive radio control links on autonomous drones. By shedding the dead weight of the battery, Product 2 serves as lightweight flight avionics. Connecting directly to the flight controller via USB-C RNDIS (Tethering), it provides a hardline, shielded data pipe for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) telemetry without polluting the RF spectrum with wireless noise.

Marine Expedition & Offshore Operations (Mist & Salt Resilience)

Standard marine communications struggle with damp air, salt spray, and continuous pitch-and-roll connectivity dropouts. The WISP-in-a-Box LTE is protected by a weather-resistant, rugged polymer shell casing and sealed interior ports. Mounted high on a mast, it absorbs heavy physical impacts and continuously failovers to bonded shore-based cellular towers whenever ocean swells block the satellite dish’s horizon profile.
