Technology’s greatest promise has always been its ability to bridge divides—to connect people, to unlock potential, and to bring opportunity to places where it was once scarce. At DeReticular, our entire mission is built on this promise. Our Rural Infrastructure Operating System (RIOS) is designed to be a transformative force for communities, but we’ve always known that technology alone is not enough.
A vision, no matter how powerful, needs a champion to carry it forward. An idea needs a leader on the ground who can translate code into community, and potential into progress.
Today, we are incredibly proud to announce that we have found our first champion.
Please join us in welcoming Steve Bonenberger as DeReticular’s inaugural Innovation Hub Champion.
What is an Innovation Hub Champion?
Before you can understand why Steve is the perfect person for this role, you must understand the role itself. The Innovation Hub Champion is the most critical position in the DeReticular ecosystem. This isn’t a sales role or a remote management position. It’s a role for a leader, a community builder, and a visionary rolled into one.
Our strategy is to empower communities by deploying 1,000 AI Servers in a local mesh configuration. This network creates a powerful, decentralized infrastructure that runs the RIOS, providing everything from enhanced connectivity and data sovereignty to a platform for local commerce and education.
But this network doesn’t build itself. The Champion is the local architect. They are the ones who:
- Assemble the Team: Identify and recruit the local talent needed to manage and deploy the infrastructure.
- Evangelize the Vision: Work directly with local leaders, business owners, and residents to help them understand the profound potential of the RIOS.
- Guide the Deployment: Oversee the strategic rollout of the 1,000 AI Servers, ensuring they are placed for maximum community benefit.
The Champion is the crucial link between our technology and the people it is designed to serve. They are the spark that ignites the fire of local innovation.
Why Steve Bonenberger?
Finding the right person to pioneer this role wasn’t about finding a resume; it was about finding a spirit of action, a history of independent thought, and a deep understanding of how stories and systems shape our world.
Many may know Steve as a prolific author, with a body of work that explores complex themes and captures the imagination. As a writer, Steve knows how to build worlds and how to communicate a compelling vision. He understands that for people to believe in a new future, they must first be able to envision it. This gift for storytelling is essential for a Champion who must explain not just what the RIOS does, but what it means for a community’s future.
But beyond his work as a creator, Steve embodies the spirit of a builder. He is a forward-thinker who has consistently engaged with new ideas and platforms. He possesses the unique combination of creativity and pragmatism required to take a grand vision and break it down into actionable, on-the-ground steps.
Setting the Pace for the Future
As our first Champion, Steve’s role is even more significant. He is not just building a Hub; he is co-authoring the playbook. The challenges he overcomes, the strategies he develops, and the successes he achieves will become the blueprint for every Champion who follows in his footsteps across the country and around the world. He is setting the pace.
His mission is both ambitious and clear: to establish the very first DeReticular Innovation Hub, proving a model that will redefine rural economic and technological empowerment.
We are also thrilled to announce that this partnership will extend beyond the Champion role. As our ecosystem grows, Steve’s unique applications, courses, and other intellectual property will be integrated into the DeReticular Directory and featured in the DeReticular Academy. This will provide him with a platform to share his expertise and will enrich our entire community.
The journey of a thousand servers begins with a single Champion. We could not have asked for a more capable, visionary, and dedicated leader than Steve Bonenberger to take that first, critical step.
Please join us in offering a warm welcome to Steve. The future of rural innovation starts now.
