Based on the DeReticular documentation and the “Project Unplugged” initiative, the RIOS Mobile Ecosystem consists of a tiered lineup of hardware, software, and services designed to provide sovereign, unbreakable connectivity at the edge.
The ecosystem is divided into three main categories: Core Hardware (The Brains), Connectivity Kits (The Pipes), and Software & Services (The Logic).
1. Core Hardware (“The Brains”)
These are the intelligent routers that manage your connections.
- RIOS Sovereign Hub (Flagship)
- Role: The ultimate mobile command center.[1][2]
- Function: Intelligently “fuses” satellite (Starlink) and cellular connections into a single, unbreakable bond.[2][3]
- Hardware: Ruggedized Netgate 2100-based appliance, Quad-Core ARM processor.
- Target User: First responders, mobile command units, overlanders, and mission-critical remote workers.
- Key Feature: Capable of high-throughput bonding (100Mbps+) and running heavy encryption.
- RIOS Guardian Hub (Entry/Cellular Focus)
- Role: The “set it and forget it” connectivity solution.
- Function: Bonds multiple cellular carriers (via vSIM) to create a stable internet connection where a single phone would fail. Can failover to Wi-Fi or a basic WAN link.
- Hardware: Compact Netgate 1100-based appliance.
- Target User: Remote workers, digital nomads, and light-fleet vehicle tracking.
- Key Feature: Plug-and-play simplicity; power it on, and it finds the best signal.
2. Connectivity Kits & Accessories (“The Pipes”)
These are the physical antennas and modems that capture the signal.
- Trifi Multi-Carrier Modem
- Description: A specialized vSIM-enabled cellular modem module embedded in or attached to the Hubs.[1]
- Capability: Connects to hundreds of carriers globally without changing physical SIM cards. It automatically hunts for the strongest tower, regardless of the provider (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.).
- High-Gain Mobile Antennas
- 7-in-1 Antenna (Sovereign Class): A roof-mounted, weatherproof dome combining 4x Cellular MIMO, 2x Wi-Fi, and 1x GPS antennas.
- 5-in-1 Antenna (Guardian Class): A slightly smaller profile antenna for the Guardian Hub (2x Cellular, 2x Wi-Fi, 1x GPS).
- RIOS Starlink Business Kit
- Description: A curated, “RIOS-Ready” Starlink Flat High-Performance terminal package.
- Integration: Comes pre-configured to plug directly into the Sovereign Hub’s WAN port for instant satellite bonding.
3. Software & Services (“The Logic”)
The digital layer that manages the hardware and integrates it into the community.
- RIOS Command App
- Description: The mobile application (iOS/Android) used to control the Hubs.
- Features: Real-time signal dashboard, one-touch “Stealth Mode” (kills all lights/transmissions), and network usage monitoring.
- RIOS Passport
- Description: A cryptographic digital identity embedded in every Hub.
- Function: Allows the device to “roam” onto local RIOS Campus networks (Trifi) automatically, offloading data usage to the fixed community network when in range.
- RIOS Pro Subscription
- Description: An optional recurring service for power users.
- Unlocks:
- VPN Services: One-click WireGuard/OpenVPN for end-to-end encryption.
- Traffic Shaping: Prioritize Zoom calls over Netflix or telemetry over web browsing.
- Flywheel Rewards: Opt-in to share anonymous signal data to earn network credits.
