In the DeReticular ecosystem, “machine identity” is handled by TPM chips. “Human identity” is handled by the Sovereign Key.
Passwords can be phished, guessed, or leaked in cloud breaches. A physical key cannot. The Sovereign Key is a hardware security module (HSM) that ensures proof of presence. To log into a Sentry Node or authorize a firmware update on a Kurb Kar, you must physically plug this device in and touch the gold sensor. If you aren’t there, the door doesn’t open.
